New changes to AMA Physician Profiles

Feb. 3, 2023

As an enhancement to the Initial Profile, the dates displayed in the “ACGME-accredited graduate medical training programs” section are now shown in month, day, and year format. Previously, only month and year were displayed.

In the DEA section of both Initial and Reappointment Profiles, the footnote regarding business activity codes and subcodes has been revised to remove mention of those code-subcode combinations that indicated the presence of a DEA DATA Waiver. The Consolidated Appropriations Act, which became effective in 2023, eliminated the DEA DATA-Waiver program. In response, the DEA sunset the DEA DATA Waiver code-subcode combinations. To learn more, please read the DEA’s letter to registrants or visit the Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration site.

This enhancement and revision became effective on AMA Profiles purchased after Feb. 2, 2023, as well as those previously purchased profiles that may be updated via AMA’s Continuous Monitoring Service after that date.
